About Me

Welcome to Whitney's Nook! I'm Whitney, and I'll be your book reviewer. Just so you know a little bit about me, I'm a trained editor who has worked in magazines, books, documentary editing, and eLearning. I have a degree in English, with a minor in editing, and I love reading. I started keeping a "reading journal" back in 2009 where I would record the books I would read and whether or not I liked them and why--hopefully that will make the transition to reviewing a little bit easier. The reading journal also helped me keep track of how many books I read in a year, which is about an average of 100. I read a little bit of everything, but I tend to stay within Young Adult fiction. I do love Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Shakespeare, along with Rick Riordan, Jessica Day George, and Gail Carson Levine.

About this Blog

Whitney's Nook is all about being honest about the books I read, so I'll reveal the good, the bad, and the ugly. The hope is to be able to start moving towards reviewing books that have just come out, or are about to come out, but for now I'm going to be reviewing a lot of what I'm just reading for my own pleasure. I'll try to get a review out once a week.
